Stained Glass Fanlight From Gujarat - Early 20th Century

Stained Glass Fanlight From Gujarat - Early 20th Century

This early 20th century Indian fanlight would originally have been positioned above a doorway, allowing natural light to filter into the interior while adding decorative architectural detail. Crafted from solid wood and inset with vibrant coloured stained glass panels, it creates a beautiful play of coloured light when illuminated by the sun.

The semi-circular design is arranged in a radiating pattern, with individual panes of green, blue, red, yellow, and white glass framed within carefully shaped wooden muntins. At the centre sits a traditional carved floral motif, a subtle decorative element typical of Indian architectural woodwork of the period.

Reclaimed from an old building, this fanlight now makes a striking decorative wall feature or architectural accent, bringing colour, texture, and historic character to a modern interior. Supplied with hangers on the back.
